McCain's Choice for VP

If there was ever any doubt that John McCain is on the verge of senility, his choice of Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska has confirmed that. Consider the fact that she was mayor of a town with a total population of less than 10,000 and was elected governor two years ago. Consider the fact that John McCain turned 72 years old today. That means if for any reason he becomes ill or dies, Palin is in control of the country. Now do we really want someone who has been governor of Alaska running the country? Get serious.
This was truly a political move to try to persuade the bitter Hillary Clinton supporters that were only voting for her because she is a woman to his side. Don't get me wrong, a lot of people supported Hillary because she has valid experience in political affairs as Senator of New York and the former first lady. Many will also say African Americans are voting for Barack Obama just because he is Black, but Blacks will not vote for someone if they do not feel he cannot make a difference in their lives. Hillary lost most of her Black supporters mainly because of what other people on her campaign team had said, not what she had said or done. African Americans truly love Bill and Hillary Clinton, but this was a case of guilty by association.
To many women who have supported Hillary for all the valid reasons of her experience and toughness, the pick of Sarah Palin is an insult to their intelligence. I do not know this woman, but it is obvious that she is still learning what politics are like in Alaska, a state with a population of less than 700,000. In her defense, I will say she is a fighter, from what I've read in her bio, but she is a lightweight compared to Hillary, who is a heavyweight, and how is she going to debate Joe Biden on foreign affairs? You can't go from being the Mayor of a town the size of Mayberry to the Mayor of Charlotte to the running America in two years.
If John McCain was at least ten years younger and in good health, this might be a good choice. But with McCain's age and health being a major concern, we cannot have this woman in charge of our destiny. If for some reason we were to lose Barack Obama, I'm sure most of the country would feel safe having Joe Biden in charge. Let's get real, Hillary's supporters are not stupid. Stubborn maybe, but not stupid. As I mentioned before, African Americans are not going to vote for someone just because they are Black, and Hillary Clinton supporters are not going to jump parties just because Gov. Palin is a woman.
